Bachelor of  International Studies

The new Bachelor of International Studies includes in-depth international studies, language studies and choice of a range of specialist strands: Global Labour and  Employment Studies; Study of States; World Literatures;               
Conflict and Society; Media and Communications; Popular Culture; Pacific; Asia and Europe.

Master of International  Studies
Replacing  the Master of International Relations and the Master of  Social Change and Development, the Master of International Studies is a 48cp, 1 year program that offers specialised  international studies in international relations, diplomacy,  government relations, development and non-government organisations. A 1.5 – 2 year Master of International Studies Advanced program builds on the Master of  International Studies and allows students to undertake a  24cp thesis in their area of interest.

Master of Science  (Occupational Hygiene Practice)
Occupational Hygiene is a relatively new  field that relates to controlling health hazards in the  workplace.  The Occupational Hygienist may be involved  with the assessment and control of chemical, physical or biological hazards.  Topics to be covered include the toxicology and specific issues in the mining, oil and gas   measurement and control of hazardous substances, asbestos,  ergonomics, noise, thermal environments, epidemiology and  industries.

Applicants with a recognised 3-year  Bachelor degree which contains at least one year of Science subjects may enter the Master of Science (Occupational Hygiene Practice). For students who do not meet this                     
criteria, completion of the Graduate Certificate in                     
Occupational Hygiene Practice with a credit average also                 
provides entry to the Master of Science.

Master of Technology Engineering
The Master of Technology Engineering program provides an opportunity for graduates in related science disciplines, or engineering (other than electrical
engineering), to undertake a major in Computer Engineering, Digital Media Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, Internet Technology, Power
Engineering, Robotics and Automation, or Telecommunications Engineering.

Master of Engineering Studies
Several new majors will be introduced in the Master of Engineering  Studies:
Power Engineering; Robotics and Automation; Internet Technology; and, Digital Media Broadcasting.

Master of Information  Technology Management

Admission to the Master of Information Technology                     
Management is now open to students from any Bachelor degree,             
provided the applicant has an average mark of 65%.                 
(Previously students required an ICT related  degree).

Master of Internet  Technology
The  Master of Internet Technology will no longer be offered in                      2009. Students interested in pursuingstudies in this area  should consider the new Internet Technology major in the Master of Engineering
Studies.

Master of International  Relations and Master of Social Change and   Development
The new Master of International Studies replaces
these two  Masters programs.

Bachelor of Mathematics and Economics will  be replaced by a
new Mathematical Economics major within the  Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance.
