Location

AUT is located on two campuses in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. The city is a cosmopolitan, sub-tropical city, not far from the Gold Coast and nearby World Heritage reserves. The city enjoys the outdoors and is situated on the Brisbane River, which makes a variety of water sports highly accessible. Campuses

Gardens Point campus is in the heart of the city, near the Botanic Gardens, Parliament House and the CBD. The campuses houses QUT’s theatre and exhibition programmes, with their focus on the performing and visual arts, and also houses Built Environment and Engineering, Business, Law and Science and Technology. It has its own ferry wharf and is connected to Kelvin Grove campus by bus.

Kelvin Grove campus is only 2 kilometres from city centre and houses the University’s Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation. The campus has a strong focus on teaching and research in the health sciences, while there are also innovative performance spaces and public art exhibitions. The campus also has nearby student accommodation, gymnasium and indoor pool.

Entry Requirements

English language requirements:- undergraduate entry generally requires and overall IELTS of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; postgraduate admission requirements vary according to the course chosen.

Academic requirements:- undergraduate admission generally requires the successful completion of the equivalent of Year 12 High School; postgraduate generally requires the successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree in a relevant field.

Enrolment dates

The are no set closing dates for applications, though there are limits on the numbers of international students in some courses. It’s a good idea to apply two or three months before the start of semester. AA Education Network can assist you here.

 

Student activities

QUT supports various student groups on campus that organise social, sporting and common interest type activities for students. There are also the informal activities students organise among themselves – the proximity of the river, the city and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts creates plenty of opportunities for spontaneous social and recreational activities.
