Overview

With its head office located at the Rockhampton campus, CQ University is a five star university that has been serving both the Australian and international student communities for more than 20 years. Its other main campuses are located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and on the Gold Coast, with smaller regional centres in Queensland.

The university has an established reputation for producing successful graduates and is the second largest provider of international education in Australia. It has flexible entry processes and is accessible to a wide range of students from diverse cultures including Eastern Europe, Asia and India.


Location


Generally, the University’s campuses are located in the CBD of the cities in which they are situated, whether state capital or regional centre. Public transport and the facilities and resources of the city are readily available to students and easily accessible.


Campuses


Rockhampton campus is set amid acres of parks within the city and offers student accommodation along with a traditional university campus experience. Other facilities include the English language teaching, library, restaurants, tropical gardens, shops, a bookstore, sports clubs, a 25-metre swimming pool and a gymnasium.

Gold Coast campus is set near the ocean and is centred on a courtyard, which gives access to the main campus facilities. This relaxed environment is located about an hour’s drive south of Brisbane, the State capital, and provides a refreshing alternative to the fast pace of urban living and CQ University’s English Language College is located on this campus.

Brisbane campus is a 26-floor purpose-built facility in the CBD with first rate facilities and student accommodation, close to the city’s Botanic Gardens State Library, Performing Arts complex and city parklands.

Sydney campus is the University’s largest international facility, located in the centre of the CBD close to Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the Botanic gardens. The campus has 2500 international students and facilities are tailed to their needs in this most multicultural of cities.

Melbourne campus is located in the heart of the city and provides first class teaching facilities to students along with campus based social activities and access to the city’s social and cultural resources like film and food festivals, cafes and restaurants, major sporting events, art exhibitions and performing arts events. The city had been a centre of settlement for migrants from the Middle East, Asia and Europe, creating an exciting and diverse cosmopolitan culture.

English Courses


English language tuition is provided to international students by the University’s English Language Centres located at the Rockhampton and Gold Coast campuses.

 
 

Entry Requirements

English language requirements:- Undergraduate and Postgraduate admission requires an overall IELTS of 6.0, with no band less than 5.0. Research programmes require n overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.00.

Academic admission mostly requires a minimum successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent, with some courses requiring the successful completion of at least one year of tertiary or post-secondary studies.

Enrolment dates


The University has three terms of study each academic year. It is advisable to apply at least two months ahead of the term in which you wish to commence studies.

Term 1:- March to May   
Term 2:- July to October   
Term 3:- November to February


Student activities


Each campus provides student lounge facilities with various recreational activities available as well as large spaces for various campus based social and cultural activities. Students also organise informal social activities and there are the various cafes, restaurants, performance events and outdoor social and recreational opportunities available, depending on the campus location.
