Australia University - QUT
QUT tops class in popularity and graduate outcomes
When it comes to finding Queensland’s number one university for school leavers and a graduate employment rate well above the national average, QUT is at the top of the class.
The latest data shows QUT has consolidated its world-class reputation in
three key areas:
- QUT is consistently the most in demand institution for school leavers, making it Queensland’s most popular university. For a number of years, including 2007, QUT has achieved the highest first preferences for students applying through QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre).
- QUT academics are regarded as leaders in their field. Since 2006, 24 QUT academics have been recognised for teaching excellence in the nation’s top teaching benchmark, the Carrick Institute awards.
- Our graduates enjoy excellent career prospects in the global labour market, immediately after graduation. The most recent figures show that 97 per cent of QUT first degree graduates had found employment, with more than 87 per cent working full-time.
Student support among best:
Peak student body
QUT has come up trumps in the latest rankings from Australia’s peak student body. The National Union of Students (NUS) findings put QUT at the forefront of student service provision in three key areas: quality of student life and support on campus, advocacy services, and the university’s level of consultation with students.
Michael Nguyen, President of the NUS, said the new rankings should play a
significant role in a student’s decision to attend an institution because
they provide an alternative rating from the student’s perspective.
“These rankings are designed to provide students with information that will
assist them in making a decision about which university to apply for,” he said.
The results confirm QUT’s commitment to provide a comprehensive range of
services for all students.
